Walks on Campus

The University grounds are a fantastic environment for a nice stroll or even a lunch time run.

LakesideWalks
There are three lakes on campus, Oranga, Knighton Rd and the Chapel. All lakes have pathways surrounding them. Special features include a collection of plants from the Waikato Basin, grouping of native podocarpus, the Magnolia grove and a collection of semi mature and mature exotic trees.

East Asian & Japanese Gardens
A water feature is situated beside the East Asian Studies building. The area contains a variety of plants, both native and Japanese origin. This area is well worth visiting in the spring when the flowering cherries are in full flower and the rich colourings of the dwarf Japanese maples.

Fitness Trail
For those feeling a bit more energetic, try out the Fitness Trail. There are four sets of activities designed to work different parts of your body.

An instructional board for the Fitness Trail is available at the lakeside of car park Gate 2b. The Fitness Trail runs within the University sports fields along Knighton Rd and Ruakura Rd.
