How it works

1. Get a team together (up to 6)

To enter the Step it Up Challenge you will need a team of up to six staff members. Each team selects a team leader.  Once you have chosen your team name, the team leader then registers the team online.

2. Set a step goal

When a team member logs in he/ she will be asked for the activity goal. How many steps will you be aiming for each week throughout the challenge? Read more about goal setting.

3. Log your daily step online

Each team member enters their daily steps on their individual on-line activity log (from 3 May-30 May).  These details may also be recorded by the team leader if this is easier.  You could also use an activity log - download here, to keep track of your steps for a couple of days and enter your steps online later.

Not only walking counts for steps, but also swimming, cycling and rowing contribute to your total. Eg. the distance you have cycled will converted automatically into equivalent steps, when you enter your activity online.

Make sure you have entered all your steps online before Monday 31 May 5pm. Winner will be announced Tuesday after the challenge.

4. Have fun

Check out how you and other team are going, how close or how far away teams are from their team step goal. Each team can log in to view your personal, your team and other teams statistics to help motivate you towards your goal.
